I don't know how I found these and I really don't know why I'm posting them!

In the mood for some zombie dancing? Check out Michael Jackson's thriller video below.
Whats a story that Never Ends? A NeverEnding Story! Flying dogs, rock men and mystical creatures, what more could a young boy ask for? Debuting in 1984, The NeverEnding story was a German film that captured my imagination in my early years of growing up. I have not watched the film in years, but thanks to the wonderful world of participatory media, I was able to come across a copy of TheNeverEnding story. Though my dreams of riding the mystical dog have come and gone, I still enjoy watching the child fantasy film that captured my imagination.
Check out the music video for the title song of the movie. Your first reaction will probably be "Wow this is so 1980's!" Check out the 80's hairstyle on the singer, don't you miss the 80's?
Aw how could anyone resist that cute faced creature? Ah yes, Gremlins! This 1984 film both fascinated and freaked me out as a kid. I remember sitting in my living room waiting for Gizmo to pop out of the trash can. Sadly, that never happened. :( But still, Gremlins is a fun filled adventure for both the young and old. A little known fact is that Steven Spielberg was a producer for the film. Will we ever see a Gremlins 3? Keep dreaming.... I'm still waiting for a Ghostbusters 3! (Note - Ghostbusters 3 has been confirmed and a script is currently being written by writers from the hit tv show "The Office".)
Here's a question for you...
Who can be a Robot, Badass and Governor all at the same time?
The year 1984 featured another highly popular, highly successful film called "The Terminator". From director James Cameron (who also directed Titanic), Terminator was a film banned from my house until I was old enough to watch R rated movies. Well actually, I take that back. Banned from my house until my parents left the room and me with the remote control. As a young kid, I don't remember being scared by The Terminator. In fact, I thought it was quite funny. The only part that really scared me when I was younger was when the Terminator (played by Arnold) is chasing Kyle Reese towards the end of the movie.
Want to see the Governor of Cali during his prime? Check out the trailer for the original 1984 film "The Terminator".
You either Love Them or Hate Them.
Personally, I love U2 and have always enjoyed listening to them. Though I was certainly not listening them at age 0 (I was born in November 1984), I did enjoy listening to them on the radio as I was growing up. The year 1984 featured the release of their hit song "Pride".

ReplyDeleteIn 1984, I was 11 years old - and I remember all of these fabulous media products very fondly. I even saw Michael Jackson LIVE in concert that year.
